Start with the records you already keep.
The three questions every plant asks, and the usual path from a scrap register to live data.
What does Foundry Twin cost?
There is no single price, and any supplier who gives you one before seeing your plant is guessing. The cost has three parts. Instruments: if your bench is sound and in calibration, this may be nothing. Connecting them: charged per machine, once. The platform: charged by use, monthly, and it can be stopped. Defect logging on CaRe 101 is free for every foundry with no user limit.
What does it need from my plant?
Less than most people expect. Nothing is rewired and no controller is reprogrammed. The platform reads copies of records and signals you already produce, and a reading no machine produces can be typed in or photographed from the log sheet. It needs three things: instruments in calibration, somebody who records the rejection, and one person who owns the question. The third is the one plants underestimate.
How soon does it show me something?
Most plants reach the first stage within days of their first upload. Once process records are joined to outcomes, conditions can be ranked against each defect on your own heats. Prediction typically follows after a few months of data, and is offered for decisions only once it has proven reliable on your plant.
A typical path.
- Set upThe plant model is created from a standard foundry template and adjusted to your own equipment.
- First filesYour scrap register and, where available, lab and melt records, usually covering several months.
- First briefsBriefs, reports and balances begin, and the plant answers the platform's first questions.
- Regular useFindings are reviewed, actions are recorded and their effect is checked, and projects are started.
- Live pointsGateways and connected instruments are added for the measurements that matter most.
- Connected productsFloor Master, Foundry Scope and the Black Box units are added as the plant needs them.
- Prediction and controlAfter a few months of learning, predictions are offered. Control follows by agreement.
Security and data ownership.
- How it's provided
- As a service over the internet. A plant needs no server of its own, and users sign in with a web browser. The service runs in a cloud data center in India, so raise any other hosting requirement before you start.
- Separation
- Each organization's data is kept apart, and each user sees only what their role allows.
- Connections
- Gateways and devices connect over encrypted links in which both sides prove their identity. A gateway is registered with a one-time code and can be withdrawn.
- Ownership
- Your data belongs to your plant. It can be exported in full, or deleted, on request. Sharing anonymized findings with other foundries stays off unless you agree to it.
